Sinfonietta Shorts are bite-sized pieces by today's leading composers; commissioned and premiered by the principal players of the London Sinfonietta. The series started in 2008 to celebrate the ensemble's 40th birthday, and the works created for it have enduring relevance as bite-sized introductions to the best new music of our time.
The first five Sinfonietta Shorts were premiered in 2008, and five years later, the series was back with five more. London Sinfonietta's Principal Players performed the pieces live as part of The New Music Show, on 8 December 2013 at Southbank Centre.
